This house was built in the early 1870's as a stone barn for retired farmer John Henry Clark at the back of his house at
108 Robinson St.
It is built on a hill and the rear is two-storey.
89 Ontario Street South
The house was constructed around 1870 by Robert Barbour for local lawyer C.S. Jones; he was mayor 1875-76. He lived there until 1879 when he absconded with client funds that were never recovered. He set up a new practice in the American West under a new name.
The house was bought by Dr John Sinclair who in 1911 sold it to his brother-in-law Wiliam Dale (1848-1921) who had taught at the University of Toronto, Queens and McMaster Universities. Professor Dale was a 2-term mayor of St. Marys.
